A License to Sin?

A saved Christian does not have an exclusive license to sin. While it is true that future sins have been atoned for, Christians are RESPONSIBLE for TRYING to walk with Jesus and not WILLFULLY sinning. It is possible for a Christian to fall away by sinning WILLFULLY.

Heb 10:26-27 OOYLT
For we -- WILLFULLY sinning after the receiving the full knowledge of the truth -- no more for sins doth there remain a sacrifice, but a certain fearful looking for of judgment, and fiery zeal, about to devour the opposers;

Sinning WILLFULLY is different than sinning ACCIDENTALLY or IGNORANTLY. It refers to someone who persists in sinning when that person knows it is wrong. Persistent sin is a mockery to the Lord and shows contempts to His precious grace. If you know you are sinning, repent! And if you know something is wrong, do not do it.

Eph 4:30 OOYLT
and make not sorrowful the Holy Spirit of God, in which ye were sealed to a day of redemption.

Christians are saved unless they go so far to ABUSE the grace of God. When a Christain sins, the Holy Spirit comes along and bring forth convictions. Persistent rejections of these convictions will cause the Holy Spirit to grieve (to be sorrowful) and that person will lose salvation.

"Once Saved, Always Saved" is NOT true. This doctrine contains a major loophole in allowing Christian to not to be RESPONSIBLE and to sin at will. There are many troubling verses for sinning Christians.

I Cor 6:9-10 OOYLT
have ye not known that the unrighteous the reign of God shall not inherit? be not led astray; neither whoremongers, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, the reign of God shall inherit.

It is FALSE to says "unrighteous" equals "unbelievers". This verse applies to ALL people including Christians. This passage is being addressed to the Christians at the Corinthian church - in other words, this passage is more applicable to Christians than unbelievers. In previous verses, apostle Paul was exhorting them not go to law before unbelievers and be willing to suffer wrongs from others. Then he wrote them that they will not enter heaven if they do MAJOR sins. If you are a Christian living with a MAJOR sin, then you are in a hot seat with God. A MAJOR sin is like the sin of fornication, not a minor sin like the sin of omission.

Mt 6:14-15 OOYLT
`For, if ye may forgive men their trespasses He also will forgive you -- your Father who is in the heavens; but if ye may not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Christians are not exempted from forgiving. Christians are expected to forgive as Jesus obtained forgiveness for them. Before this passage, Jesus is instructing his disciples, whom are believers, on how to pray - in other words, this passage is for Christians. If you are harboring unforgiveness, whether you are a Christian or an unbeliever, you are in a hot seat with God.

Mt 7:21 OOYLT
`Not every one who is saying to me Lord, lord, shall come into the reign of the heavens; but he who is doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens.

Christians are not exempted from obeying the Lord. It is FALSE to claim only unbelievers disobey the Lord. Jesus is sharing this Sermon on the Mount to his disciples, whom are believers. If you are disobeying the Lord, whether you are a Christian or an unbeliever, you are in a hot seat with God.

Christians are also expected to have a living walk with Jesus. They are expected to pursue "heart" relationship with Jesus, not a "head" knowledge of Jesus.

Jn 3:16 OOYLT
for God did so love the world, that His Son -- the only begotten -- He gave, that every one who is believing in him may not perish, but may have life age-during.

The word, believe, is a translation of the Greek word, pisteou. Pisteou has also been used as commit or trust. Acknowledging Jesus as Savior is NOT enough to fulfill the definition of pisteou. A person, who does NOT commit, will perish.

Consider a case where someone acknowledges Jesus and commits to Him for a few years, and then, become inactive and just acknowledges Jesus for many years afterward. During the first few years, the condition of pisteou is met. At the end, the condition of pisteou is NOT met. In other words, that person was saved during the first few years, and then, at the end, loses salvation. The use of pisteou shows that it is possible to lose salvation.

A Christian is RESPONSIBLE for TRYING to live correctly before the Lord. That person is to make an ongoing "Commitment to Jesus".

More accurate is "Saved" + "Commitment to Jesus" = "Heaven-bounded" where "Commitment to Jesus" includes

having an active faith,
living a life of repentance, and
obeying the Lord.

A Christian can ensures an afterlife in heaven by being RESPONSIBLE for living a genuine Christian life. It is where you are RIGHT NOW, not what you did long time ago. Stop WILLFULLY sinning and actively
