Are You sure You are Entering the Narrow Gate?

Mt 7:13-14 OOYLT
`Go ye in through the strait gate, because wide is the gate, and broad the way that is leading to the destruction, and many are those going in through it; how strait is the gate, and compressed the way that is leading to the life, and few are those finding it!

In 1973, Howard O. Pittman had a death experience where he was taken out from the body and met the Lord who extended his life. In USA Prophets1, he testified
As the saints were being admitted, I was wondering why I was not being allowed to do what I came to do. I was so impatient to get my request before God that I missed the whole point of what I saw. This point was so important that the Holy Spirit told me Himself. I watched the fifty saints enter Heaven but the point I missed was the time frame involved. It was explained to me that at the same time those fifty saints died on Earth, 1,950 other humans also died; or only 50 out of 2000 made it into Heaven. That other 1,950 were not there. Where were they? That was only 2 1/2 percent going to Heaven! Ninety seven point five percent did not make it! Is that representative of the entire would today? If so, 97 and 1/2 percent of the population of this world today is not ready to meet God. The sad part, my friend, is that is exactly representative of this Laodicean Church Age in which we live today. We are now in the time when the great majority of church goers are only "mouth-professors" and not "heart-possessors."
In 1973, there were about 3.9 billions people2 3 4. I was not able to find what percentage were christian in 1973, but I did note the percentage in 1910 and 20105. This report5 states that in 1910, 35% of world = christian, and in 2010, 32% of world = christian. I interpolate and guess, in 1973, 33.89% of world = christian. This figures include catholics, protestants, cults. Howard testified that only 2.5% entered heaven in 1973. 2.5/33.89 = 0.07377. I guess in 1973 that less than 1 out of 13 of people claiming to be christian enters heaven. That is a scary thought.

Some may argue only conservative protestants are saved. I am not interested in debating, but let me analyze. In 2010, protestants make up about 5.78 percent of the world population6. This figure probably includes unsaved people from cults and liberal churches, but there are small remmants of saved people from catholic and orthodox churches. [Please, no debate - I know a few personally - they are exceptions.] Assume a wild guess that pluses and minuses equal. I don't know what percentage of world population were protestant in 1973, but I am guessing it is close to 2010. 2.5/5.78 = 0.4325. If that is the case, then I wildly guess that less than half of those attending conservative protestant churches enters heaven. That is a scary thought.

When Jesus said the gate is narrow, he meant the gate is narrow. Are you absolutely sure you are entering that gate? Are you living with Jesus throughout the days OR just on Sunday mornings? Are you living a pure life - a life without sins?

Do You Pisteuo?

Most salvation verses use the word, believe, as a translation of the Greek word, pisteuo. For example,

Jn 3:16 OOYLT
for God did so love the world, that His Son -- the only begotten -- He gave, that every one who is BELIEVING in him may not perish, but may have life age-during.

Pisteuo is an active form of believe. Bibletime, a bible program using the Strong's Greek Bible Dictionary module, has
4100 pisteuo pist-yoo'-o
from 4102; to have faith (in, upon, or with respect to, a person or
thing), i.e. credit; by implication, to entrust (especially one's
spiritual well-being to Christ):--believe(-r), commit (to trust), put
in trust with.
A deeper "Greek" study of pisteuo can be found at

http://www.studylight.org/lexicons/greek/gwview.cgi?n=4100
http://www.biblestudytools.com/lexicons/greek/nas/pisteuo.html

Pisteu o means acknowledge, commit, and trust. In other words, Jn 3:16 can be rewritten as

Jn 3:16 OOYLT modified
for God did so love the world, that His Son -- the only begotten -- He gave, that every one who is ACKNOWLEDGING, COMMITTING, and TRUSTING in him may not perish, but may have life age-during.

Pisteuo refers to someone who believes so much that his life depends on Jesus. It is a belief that is more than head knowledge. It is not enough to acknowledge Jesus died on the cross for our sins. True christians walk with Jesus throughout the days, not just on Sunday mornings. True christians commit and trust Jesus in all their daily affairs. <

Are You Living without Sins?

Eph 4:30 OOYLT
and make not sorrowful the Holy Spirit of God, in which ye were sealed to a day of redemption.

Mt 12:31-32 OOYLT
Because of this I say to you, all sin and evil speaking shall be forgiven to men, but the evil speaking of the Spirit shall not be forgiven to men. And whoever may speak a word against the Son of Man it shall be forgiven to him, but whoever may speak against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this age, nor in that which is coming.

OSAS (Once Saved, Always Saved) is not a true doctrine - Armenism is even more wrong. OSAS has a loophole in that it allows christians to sin and not repent.

When a christian sins, the Holy Spirit comes along and convicts about the sin. It is the christian's responsibility to repent and turn away from that sin. Many christians will repent in matter of hours. In rare cases, they will repent in matter of weeks. When a christian refuses to repent and align with the Holy Spirit's conviction after a long time, that person is grieving the Holy Spirit.

Are you living in sins? Are you grieving the Holy Spirit? It is worth enjoying the pleasure of sin for a moment, and then, spending afterlife screaming in agony for a very very very long time? You can fool other men, but you will not fool God. Do not bother to make excuses after excuses - it is not worth it. Be courage and face the sins in yourself.

Summary

Only a small portion of Sunday churchgoers enter heaven when they finish their earthly lives. We are living in the Laodicean Church Age where most churchgoers are living without God and/or in sins. Are you entering the narrow gate? Do you have a living walk with Jesus? If not, I suggest you read Life Is In Jesus. Do you treat sins seriously? Do you respond when the Holy Spirit convicts you of something?

Phil 2:12-13 OOYLT
So that, my beloved, as ye always obey, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, with fear and trembling your own salvation work out, for God it is who is working in you both to will and to work for His good pleasure.

1 Ti 6:11-12 OOYLT
and thou, O man of God, these things flee, and pursue righteousness, piety, faith, love, endurance, meekness; be striving the good strife of the faith, be laying hold on the life age-during, to which also thou wast called, and didst profess the right profession before many witnesses.

Let us work out our salvation with fear and trembling. Let us strive to live sinless lives. Let us fight the battle of faith. Amen.
