Mt 7:13-14 Enter all of you in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leads unto life, and few there be that find it. Jesus said the gate to life is narrow. Does that means all one has to do is accept Jesus as Savior and forget about Lordship? Does it means once we are saved, we are always saved? Is salvation that easy? I think NOT! Phil 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as all of you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. The "born again" experience is only the beginning of a walk with Jesus. Christians are to "work out their own salvation with fear and trembling". They are exhorted to enter the "narrow gate". They are to take RESPONSIBILITY for living correctly with Jesus and be "Committed to Jesus". . It is "Once Saved" + "Commitment to Jesus" = "Always Saved" where "Commitment to Jesus" means - having an active faith, - living a life of repentance, and - obeying the Lord. A person, who is "Committed to Jesus", will strive to enter the "narrow gate" and "work out their own salvation with fear and trembling". ********** All scriptures are from the Updated King James Version bible which can found at http://www.geocities.com/updatedkjv/ .
