CELEBRATE PASSOVER OR EASTER? - YOU ARE ACCOUNTABLE

One view is, Easter is pagan and should be avoided. The opposing view is, we should be able to celebrate Christ's resurrection and avoid the pagan's activities on Easter. I consider this issue to be Christian liberty issue. Personally, I rather steer clear of any hint of being associated with paganism. You decide what your position is. Just remember that you are accountable to the Lord about your decision. And will have to explain your actions during the judgment of Christ.

Passover

Some scriptures about Passover are

Lev 23:4-5 `These are appointed seasons of Jehovah, holy convocations, which ye proclaim in their appointed seasons: in the first month, on the fourteenth of the month, between the evenings, is the passover to Jehovah;

Num 9:2-3 `Also, the sons of Israel prepare the passover in its appointed season; in the fourteenth day of this month between the evenings ye prepare it in its appointed season; according to all its statutes, and according to all its ordinances ye prepare it.'

Deut 16:1 `Observe the month of Abib -- and thou hast made a passover to Jehovah thy God, for in the month of Abib hath Jehovah thy God brought thee out of Egypt by night;

Eze 45;21 `In the first month, in the fourteenth day of the month, ye have the passover, a feast of seven days, unleavened food is eaten.

The Lord instructed His People to observe the Passover.

You are accountable for your actions about Easter.

Eze 33:1-9 (OOYLT)
And there is a word of Jehovah unto me, saying, `Son of man, speak unto the sons of thy people, and thou hast said unto them: A land -- when I bring in against it a sword, And the people of the land have taken one man out of their borders, And made him to them for a watchman. And he hath seen the sword coming against the land, And hath blown with a trumpet, and hath warned the people, And the hearer hath heard the voice of the trumpet, and he hath not taken warning, And come in doth the sword, and taketh him away, His blood is on his head. The voice of the trumpet he heard, And he hath not taken warning, his blood is on him, And he who took warning his soul hath delivered. And the watchman, when he seeth the sword coming in, And he hath not blown with a trumpet, And the people hath not been warned, And come in doth a sword, And taketh away of them -- a soul, He in his iniquity is taken away, And his blood from the hand of the watchman I require. And thou, son of man, A watchman I gave thee to the house of Israel, And thou hast heard from My mouth a word, And thou hast warned them from Me. In My saying to the wicked, O wicked one -- thou dost surely die, And thou hast not spoken to warn the wicked from his way, He -- the wicked -- in his iniquity doth die, And his blood from thy hand I require. And thou, when thou hast warned the wicked of his way, to turn back from it, And he hath not turned back from his way, He in his iniquity doth die, And thou thy soul hast delivered.

The issue is accountability. A prophet is like a nosy mailman delivering a piece of the Lord's mail, but happened to had read it. The prophet's job is to deliver the mail and that's it. Prophets do not need to make things happen. It is the job of the recipients to pray over the message and to decide what to do. I.e., the recipients may refutes it, may delay, may do one step, or whatever. The recipients are accountable for responding correctly to the prophetic message.

Rom 11:12-13 (OOYLT)
so, then, each of us concerning himself shall give reckoning to God; no longer, therefore, may we judge one another, but this judge ye rather, not to put a stumbling-stone before the brother, or an offence.

You are accountable for your actions about Easter. And this is not for just yourself. You are accountable for misleading other believers especially those whom are weak in the Lord. If you are a spiritual leader (parents, cell group leaders, ministry leaders, deacons, elders, pastors, missionaries, etc.), you are definitely accountable for those following you. You may be celebrating the Lord's resurrection on Easter Sunday, but does this lead others to participate in pagan activities such as Easter Egg hunts?

I spent most of my Christian walk celebrating Easter (tsk, tsk, tsk). And I was a spectator to several Easter Eggs hunts (tsk, tsk, tsk). At Christ's judgment seat, I am sure He will discuss other sins I have. But it won't be about Easter during the past decade. If you insist on celebrating Easter, be ready to talk to Jesus about it on the day of judgment. Personally, I rather be completely clear instead of drabbling in a "gray" area.

There three things that really bother me about Easter. They are

Do you know when Jesus rose from the dead?

The crucifixion riddle is at

and the link to the hints is also there.

If you are still stuck, ask me for the 12 pages answer sheet. Or if you prefer not to ask me, the answer is on this website. I used the answer sheet to make a point in one of my writings. The list of writings is on the home page. [Hint: Two of the NT books have funny endings.]

Mt 13:10-12 (OOYLT)
And the disciples having come near, said to him, `Wherefore in similes dost thou speak to them?' And he answering said to them that -- `To you it hath been given to know the secrets of the reign of the heavens, and to these it hath not been given, for whoever hath, it shall be given to him, and he shall have overabundance, and whoever hath not, even that which he hath shall be taken from him.

You may be wondering why I did not link the answer obviously. It is for same reason that Jesus taught in similes (other translations have parables). Most people came to Jesus to "watch the show" (see and/or receive healings and other miracles). Only a few would be hungry for the truth that Jesus spoke and dug deeper for the meaning of the similes. The answer is for those whom are hungry and would spend time to investigate for the truth. If you are indifference, then you move on. It is your choice. Just remember that the Lord does not like His People to be indifference.

Why Christians should celebrate the Passover instead of Easter

Easter is 100% pagan and has nothing to do with Jesus' passion, crucifixion, and resurrection. If you still falsely believe Jesus rose from the dead on Easter, I strongly exhort you to solve the

Crucifixion Riddle

UPDATE 2022:

Roman Calendar has Passover 2022 as Friday, April 15. But Jewish days start the evening before. Thus Passover 2022 starts on Thursday sunset, March 27. The first Passover Seder dinner is the next day, Friday dinner, after nightfall. You will be blessed to eat a Passover Seder dinner. Many people often eat a Passover Seder on the second night as well. Passover celebration lasts 8 days until Saturday sunset, April 23 (although some Jews celebrate Passover 7, instead of 8, days).

I exhort you to attend a Passover dinner. Passover is a time of worship and its celebration has much prophetic significance. I know you will be blessed.

Dan 7:25b OOYLT ... it hopeth to change seasons and law; and they are given into its hand, till a time, and times, and a division of a time.

The ancient Roman Catholic church did much damage in altering the law (bible) and times (holidays). They may had even pulled a chapter or two from the bible. See the essay, Was Acts 29 Part of the Original Bible?
